Q: What does LED stand for and where did it come from?
A: Short answer: Light-emitting diode. Based on semi-conductor technology, LED lights have been around since the nineteen-sixties but their use was relegated primarily to that of indicator lights on electronics as their colors were monochrome red, green, and blue, and they had little power. Fifteen years ago, white light was achieved from an LED light-source and suddenly LEDs began popping up in mini-flashlights, car keys. Today, because of evolving optical and electronic technologies, the sky is the limit.

Q. Do LEDs have a “ceiling” in brightness per lite?
A: Yes, watts and lumens per light emitting diode. Currently the maximum output for LED is 5 watts.

Q: Will LEDs ever eclipse tungsten and fluorescent lighting in big setups?
A: Yes, firstly fluorescent, later tungsten and then incandescent lighting.

Q: I noticed on your web site a claim of “made in America with all American components”. Why is this a good thing?
A: First off, because this is where we live and manufacture our power LEDs. Our relationships with American suppliers guarantee us consistent quality for a lighting product of the highest reliability.

Q: What configurations does LEDZ have on the drawing board?
A: We are currently working on extending our Brute and Mini Par line.

Q: I’ve read that LEDs are wildly inconsistent in terms of color temperature. How consistent are LEDZ?
A: LEDZ Power LEDs offer consistent color temperature.

Q: Is this just a niche light for table top or car interiors, or can it be used in general video applications?
A: The LEDZ line can be used in general video and film applications.

Q: It seems to me that this is an ideal instrument for camera mounting on an ENG video camera, yet you fail to mention this scenario. Why?
A: The LEDZ Mini Par and Brute line are clearly advantageous for many applications and we allow our end users to decide on their best use.
